INVITATION TO BID
Sealed proposals for bids packages for the K-4 Conversion, Gymnasium, and Cafeteria Renovations, Horatio, AR, will be received by John Ward, Superintendent Horatio Public Schools, 205 Isbell Street, Horatio, AR 71842. Starting at 1:30 P.M. and as outlined in the specifications, Tuesday, June 5, 2012 when bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the cafeteria. All interested bidders are encouraged to attend the mandatory pre-bid conference on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 2:30 P.M. in the cafeteria. Any bid received after the scheduled opening time will be returned unopened. These bids are for performing the contracts as outlined in the plans, specifications and specifically section 1H – DEFINITION OF BID PACKAGES. A complete set of project documents may be obtained from the Construction Manager located at Beshears Construction, Inc., 12934 Old Hwy. 71, Fort Smith, AR 72916, (479) 646-0846. A plan deposit of $150.00 will be required for each set which is refundable upon submitting a bid and returning the plans. A cashier’s check, drawn upon a bank or trust company doing business in Arkansas, or acceptable bid bond payable to the Horatio Public Schools, in an amount not less than 5 percent of the total Base Bid must accompany each bid as a guarantee that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will promptly enter into the contract and execute forms contained in the Project Documents within 10 days after the notice of award.
The Horatio Public Schools reserves the right to reject any and all bids and any nonconforming bid and to award the contract in a period of time not exceeding 60 days from the Bid opening date. Bids shall remain firm for that period. The Horatio Public Schools hereby notifies that minority business enterprises will be afforded equal opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, age, religion, or national origin in consideration for an award.

Specifications may be obtained at the Sevier County Circuit Clerk’s Office, Sevier County Courthouse, Room 106, 115 N. 3rd St., De Queen, AR, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Sealed bids will be opened in the Sevier County Conference Room at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Envelopes should be labeled Sevier County Circuit Clerk’s Computer System Bid.
